I didn't like the system. So I built my own way out.
I spent decades inside medicine. Critical care, three years in anesthesia, then internal and functional medicine. Long enough to know exactly how the system works and exactly who it fails.
In 2022 I walked away from insurance and opened Alpha Health & Wellness as a private, cash-pay practice here in Wellington. No investors. No hospital behind me. One clinician, one office, and the belief that people would pay for medicine done properly.
They did. Alpha started with medical weight loss and grew to 800 patients in four years, and I ran every part of it myself. Along the way I kept meeting the same person: the man who runs everything but his own health. Successful, busy, nobody measuring him, and headed for the heart attack or the stroke that everyone later calls sudden.
So in 2026 we got specific. Alpha is now built around hormone optimization and risk medicine for men, with Alpha Inner Circle as the flagship. Our weight-loss program continues for the patients already in it. Women's hormone optimization is next, and the wait list is open.
Same practice. Same phone number. Same clinician who left the system so she could practice medicine the way it should be done.
